AAP in 3D opens February 5 2010 5:30-9pm at morgan contemporary glass gallery. This multi-media sculptural exhibition celebrates the 100th Anniversary of the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh (AAP*), and features many artists who were juried into the 2009 AAP Exhibition at the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh PA. Artists premiering at morgan include Atticus Adams, organic metal mesh forms; Val Cox, painted dimensional canvases; Will Giannotti, wood sculpted spheres; Passle Helminski, hanging fiber works; Dana Ingham, paper cut-outs and wood sculpture; Sandra Moore, ceramic forms; James Myford, abstract aluminum sculptures; Jeff Phelps, fused, kilnformed panels and vessels and Bill Zarvis, cold-worked glass vessels. Also participating in the show are returning morgan artists Judi Charlson, cast glass and Ceil Sturdevant, ceramic forms. The exhibition continues thru April 3, 2010.
*The AAP, currently a 450-member arts organization, was founded to foster an appreciation of visual art and to create opportunities for artists to display their work. Past membership has included well-known Pittsburgh artists such as Andy Warhol, Samuel Rosenberg, Mary Cassatt, Philip Pearlstein and Louise Pershing.
