morgan contemporary glass gallery headed to glassweekend'13 at WheatonArts in Millville, NJ, home of the Museum of American Glass, from June 7-9. glassweekend'13, presented by the Creative Glass Center of America and the Art Alliance for Contemporary Glass, is an international symposium and exhibition of contemporary glass. Since 1985, this biennial event has brought together the world's leading glass artists, collectors, galleries, and museum curators for a three-day weekend of exhibitions, lectures, hands-on glassmaking, artist demonstrations and social events. In the gallery, glassweekend'13 opened with a reception back in Pittsburgh on June 21. Nine established and emerging international artists, presenting exciting and innovative sculpture, include Rhoda Baer, Robert Bender, Susan Silver Brown, John de Wit, Jon Goldberg, Mikyoung Jung, Catherine Labonte, Matthew Perez, and Erica Rosenfeld. A distinctive selection of new jewelry by artists both new and those already on the gallery's roster is presented by Dolores Barrett, Jane Bruce, Ronit Dagan, Karen Gilbert, Bronwen Heilman, Amy Lemaire, Elise Ordorica, Erica Rosenfeld, Melissa Schmidt, and Barbara Becker Simon. This unique collection exhibits a wearable counterpoint to the exhibition's sculptural work. The show continues through September 25.
