morgan glass gallery reprises synthesis a thematic fusing and kilnforming show
opens FirstFriday during WarmWeatherWalk june 6, 2014

synthesis 2: fusing & kilnforming continues past Labor Day celebrating the uniquely painterly technique of glass fusing and kilnforming. Using this ancient but newly popular technique, glass is altered, fused, shaped, or textured by the heat of a kiln, then often shaped in molds or slumped into forms. This impressive show runs the gamut from abstract impressionist influences to representational forms and topographical references encompassing both free standing sculptures and wall pieces by 14 artists: Jackie Braitman, Dorothy Hafner, Karl Harron, Patti & Dave Hegland, Bronwen Heilman, Steve Immerman, Steve Klein, Fahan Sky McDonagh, Kari Minnick, Catharine Newell, Alyssa Oxley, Amanda Simmons and Steven Tippin. This show marks the debut of Braitman, the Heglands, Oxley, McDonough, Simmons and Tippin at the gallery.
