teapots! 4th invitational opened April 9, 2010 during the FirstFriday ArtWalk, 5:30-9:00pm at morgan contemporary glass gallery 5833 Ellsworth avenue, Pittsburgh, PA. The exhibition continues thru May 29, 2010. More than 40 national and international artists have been invited to participate in this year's exhibition, which will feature teapots in all media to capture the versatility of the teapot form. Featured glass artists include Ricky Bernstein, Eoin Breadon, Jason Chakravarty, Benjamin Cobb, Katie Creyts, Ben Edols + Kathy Elliott, Terry Evans, Cherry Goldblatt, Leslie + Linsday Grigsby, Theo Keller, Adam Kenney, Tanya Lyons, John Miller, Nick Mount, Angus Powers, Susan Rankin, Nadine Saylor, Boyd Sugiki + Lisa Zerkowitz, Miia Virtasalmi and many more. All artists are challenged to explore the teapot form literally, metaphorically, narratively or abstractly, while keeping true to their own aesthetic. "We ask that their pieces be representative of their work, and bear some resemblance to a teapot form. Many of these artists have never made teapots, so we never quite know what we'll get." notes gallery director Amy Morgan. "The result is an exciting, eclectic and engaging exhibition!"
